Gay City’s “Meet Market” was a tasty event…on so many levels.

Matchmakin' is awesome!

Speed dating is back! Tuesday night Gay City hosted its first speed dating event in over 5 years, “The Meet Market” sponsored by Winebow and MOD Pizza of Capitol Hill. Gentlemen of all types showed up for a dating buffet of hot men and even hotter pizza!

MOD Pizza was the perfect venue with plenty of room for mingling. For $15 you got free wine from Winebow (a tasty Chianti Italia 2009), delicious personal pizzas with an array of toppings and a three minute date with every hot stud in the room. Kick ass deal if you ask me!

Jeff from Gay City, was there to keep the event on track and make sure that everyone got the hookup. The vibe at the sold-out event was awesome…people were excited to be doing something new and fun. After two hours, six bottles of wine, and twenty personal pizzas it was clear that Gay City has a success on their hands!

I personally loved the information sheet provided with dating tips for the participants. My favorite was “ ‘Great Ass!’ is flattering, but probably not an appropriate opening line.” They also listed some great conversation starters. Our favorites were “Morning person or Night owl?” and, “Who was the first boy you kissed?” The sheet was funny and informative and a nice touch to a great evening.

And, out of the twenty handsome gentlemen who participated, there were forty-eight matches! Sounds like some people are double dating already!

James #20: “Fun! I would definitely do this again. It was amazing how many people I met that know the same people I do!”

A big thanks to Doug Dixon and Chris Schultt at MOD Pizza for keeping everyone in Pizza and Winebow for some awesome vintage. And a super high five to Gay City! Be on the look out for Gay City’s next “Meet Market” event. It is destined to become the next, new, hot thing!
