The annual Broadway Bares event was held in NYC last Sunday and the naughty, barely clad chorus boys/girls of Broadway raised $1.2 million dollars for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
Broadway Bares XXII: Happy Endings, a fairytale evening of modern-day burlesque featuring 227 of New York’s sexiest dancers, made history for the third year in a row Sunday by raising a record-breaking $1,254,176, to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
Broadway Bares XXII: Happy Endings transformed our favorite fairytales into crazy-hot, spectacular come-to-life stories as told by a bevy of Broadway’s best performers. From Snow White to Sleeping Beauty, Pinocchio to The Pied Piper,Broadway Bares spun the classics into contemporary fantasy as more than 6,000 people packed Roseland Ballroom for two sold-out performances on June 17, 2012.
We love posting photos from this great event…for obvious reasons. Who doesn’t love classic fairy tales come to life? With real fairies and a lot of nearly nekkid tail…
Frankly, we think Seattle needs to do its own version of this event. Every theater in town could compete: the 5th Avenue, the Village, Teatro ZinZanni, Can Can Cabaret, Re-bar and many more. There’s a lot of talent in this town and a lot of amazing performers, both legit as well as burlesque/drag stars.
Time to put on a SHOW!
