Hunted Like the Wolf: Recap Episode 6 of “The Walking Dead.”

The title of this week’s episode of AMC’s The Walking Dead was Hounded and boy howdy did it live up to its title.

We open with Merle and some other Stepbury D-Bags in the woods hunting Michonne apparently the Guv’Nor has ordered that the find her and kill her, SHOCKER.  They stumble upon a collection of Biter appendages which one of the men translates as “Go Back.”  Merle laughs it off as a “Bitergram” but then Michonne springs out of the woods ninja style and makes quick work of two of the Stepbury D-Bags: she beheads one and slices the other open, stem to stern, and disables the third.  She takes off running but not before Merle gets a shot off that hits her in the leg.

We move to the prison where Daddy Rick is descending further and further into madness.  He is talking on the phone to a woman and begging for her to allow his group to join her, apparently she is somewhere safe.  He pleads, he cries, he doesn’t clean the Walker guts off his face.  The woman on the other end of the phone says she will discuss his sitch with her people and call back in 2 hours.

When next we see Daddy Rick he seems to have found a working shower and clean set of clothes because he looks ruhl pretty when he checks in on the group.  He exchanges a few words and then heads back to the boiler-room.  Maggie and Glenn head into town on a supply run and Daryl, Carl and Oscar head out to clear out the lower levels of Walkers.

Back in Stepbury the Gov’Nor and LovesABadBoy Drea are having a conversation about the gladiatorial game.  LABB Drea disapproves but says she “gets it.”  Really, LAAB Drea??? What’s to get the Guv’Nor is a bloodthirsty psycho everyone can see that but you.  The Guv’Nor agrees to let her help guard the wall.

Daddy Rick is back on the telephone this time with a man.  The man interrogates Daddy Rick about the people he has killed and what he has had to do to survive.  Daddy Rick justifies his killings as self-defense (which they were!) but breaks down when the man asks about Lori’s death.  Daddy Ricks clams up, the man hangs up, and Daddy Rick screams and yells collapses.

Back in Stepbury we catch up with LABB Drea who is sitting on the walk reminiscing with some Stepbury woman about the good times killing their family members that turned and yadda, yadda, yadda.  (Stepbury even with all its sinister goings on really does bore me to tears sometimes).  The Stepbury woman is bragging about how good she is with a bow when a Biter appears.  Stepbury misses three times, Robin Hood she is not, so LABB jumps off the wall and takes care of business with her knife.  This pisses off Stepbury woman because the Guv’Nor has ordered that no one jump over the wall unless it is an emergency.  LABB Drea could give shit, she is just happy with her kill.

Meanwhile in the woods Merle and his remaining lackey still hunting Michonne.  She once again gets the drop on them and injures the lackey.  Then she and Merle go at it hand-to-muthafucking-hand.  Michonne is disarmed but Merle’s bayonet hand but Michonne don’t give a shit SHE’S MICHONNE!  She kicks Merle in his jewels and I think would have finished him but then some Biters had to interrupt.  Merle kills a few and so does Michonne, getting covered in Biter guts in the process, and then she takes off.  Merle and his lackey finish off the rest of the Biters.

Back at the prison Daryl and Carl have a touching moment about both losing their moms.  Daryl’s mother was apparently a drunk that liked to smoke in bed (SHOCKER) and we all know what happened to Carl’s mommy (RIP Lori, you annoyed me but you died horribly).  They bond and we all go aaaaaahhhhh.

Back at Stepbury the sexual tension grows between the Guv’Nor and LABB Drea.  Not much more to say here.

Back in the woods Merle, clearly terrified of Michonne, calls off the hunt.  His lackey says they have to keep looking for her.  Merle isn’t having it and kills the lackey.

Michonne, on the run encounters a group of Biters, but they walk on by.  Apparently being covered in Biter guts still works as camo (Daddy Rick learned this in Season One).

Speaking of Daddy Rick he is back on the phone and the mystery woman knows his name?  She hangs up on him again.

We are back with Michonne she is walking up to a shopping center when Glenn and Maggie pull up.  Michonne hides and watches.

Back at Stepbury LABB Drea and the Guv’Nor are in his garden drankin’.  They kiss and I vomit a little.

Guess who shows up at the shopping center, yup, our old friend Merle.  He makes a show of making nice but when Glenn and Maggie puss out and don’t just execute his redneck ass he takes them hostage and back to Stepbury.  Michonne watches all this and has learned Maggie and Glenn came from a nearby prison.  To be fair to Michonne there was really nothing she could do.  She is wounded and doesn’t have a gun.   Confidential to Glenn:  Next time an asshole from your past shows up just KILL HIM!!!

Back at the prison Daryl, Carl and Oscar kill a Walker several times over and Daryl finds Carol’s knife in its neck.

Daddy Rick answers the phone again and surprise, surprise it’s Lori on the other line.  That’s right Daddy Rick has either fallen completely into insanity land or he has a direct line to the afterlife.  We are fairly sure it’s the former.  Anyway there is a lot of crying and carrying on and this is a somewhat touching scene.  Lori reminds Daddy Rick to take care of Carl and the baby and then she is gone.

Back in Stepbury the Guv’Nor and LABB Drea are fucking and I am trying to hold in my VOMIT!  I mean really, LABB Drea?  Really???  Do you have no common sense?  Are you that desperate for a fuck?  GROSS!!!  Speaking gross Merle interrupts them spins the Guv’Nor a lie about Michonne being dead and makes up for not bringing back her head and sword (for obvious reasons) by telling him about Glenn and Maggie.  The Guv’Nor then goes back for seconds with LABB Drea and Merle goes off to torture Glen and Maggie, win-win for Stepbury.

We then get a touching moment with Daddy Rick and his baby back at the prison.  In the lower cell blocks Daryl is waiting outside a room where he thinks a Walker is hiding.  He is scraping Carol’s knife against the wall.  We are meant to think he believes Walker Carol is behind the door.  He finally opens the door and who does he find?  Not Walker Carol but living Carol.  HOORAY!!!  I knew she wasn’t dead.

Back in the courtyard Daddy Rick continues to have a moment with the baby when something odd catches his eye.  He walks toward the fence and who does he see, yup, Michonne with the baby formula amongst the Walkers.  Her Walker gut camo is still working.

Great episode this week and we can’t wait for the showdown between Daddy Rick and the Guv’Nor.  IT.IS.COMING!!!
