He’s a huge star in Britain and a delicious object of cult adoration in the States, but out British comedian Simon Amstell is quickly becoming a name to be reckoned with on all sides of the Atlantic. His award winning comedy show “Numb” has been filmed for the BBC and his worldwide tour is bringing that show to the American West Coast for shows in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle with Amstell popping into the Showbox at the Market on Sunday, May 5th. It’s a 21+ show and you can still get tickets but earlier stops on the tour have been SRO so don’t dawdle.
As a Jewish, out, vegan comedian, Mr. Amstell could very well be the poster child for young gay hipsters. His gawky charms and biting wit should fit well within the confines of gawky, witty Seattle. Here’s a clip from the video of “Numb” on the perils of living alone and “unethical porn”:
He’s adorable. Check him out.
