The train wreck of the year is upon us.

Yes, it’s time for the “Snatch Game” episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race on LOGO, the kooky yet messy episode where the remaining queens have to do their best celebrity impersonations in a challenge that apes the old Match Game TV game show from the 70s. (We know how much Miss Ru LUUUUUURVES pop culture shit from the 70s!)

“Snatch Game” has a history of being messy. There’s usually one, or maybe two queens who nail the challenge, (both of OUR Seattle girls won it; Miss Jinkx with her “Little Edie” from Grey Gardens in Season 5, and Season 6’s Miss BenDeLaCreme with her Maggie Smith/Dowager Countess from Downton Abbey) but so many of the girls tend to fail and flail in a spectacular display of awfulness.

The buzz about the “Snatch Game” edition for Season 7:

  • Pearl does “Big Ang” from Mob Wives (oh, dear…)
  • Ginger does Adele
  • Max as Sharon Needles (!!!!)
  • Miss Fame and Violet fight over playing Donnatella Versace!

Here’s the promo for the episode:

Meanwhile, you still have so many options to go view this season from the comfort of a local neighborhood bar…if you ‘hood is really close to Capitol Hill. We’re rather partial to the party at 500 East (aka the former World of Beer on Pine Street) mainly because we like that space and all the lovely TV screens. It’s that rare venue where EVERYONE feels welcome…it’s not a gay bar or a straight bar but a mixed neighborhood bar where everyone who knows how to act like a grown up is welcome.

As for the “Snatch”, we have our fingers crossed that SOMEONE is able to persevere and win the challenge. Though, it’s hard to figure out WHO will do well since this season was so badly cast. (We just don’t really care about most of these ho-bags.)
