Party at Lifelong Thrift Store’s Grand Opening This Tuesday!

July 6, 2015• byKorra Q

At long last, the Lifelong Thrift Store will open on Broadway in the former Red Light location. (#sorrynotsorry, Red Light).

Tomorrow, Tuesday the 7th, at 4pm, bring some donated goods to double your chances of winning a fabulous door prize! Party it up to the tunes of a cool DJ, have some small bites, grab some hourly giveaways, and take a look at the new store! Because let’s be honest: at least some character will remain on Broadway as long as the thrift stores are there. (Read more about Lifelong’s big move to this new location, HERE!) Even better, a thrift store for a great cause.

And if this isn’t enough for you to do on a Tuesday evening, feel free to attend the Town Hall meeting for LGBTQ equality, where members of the legal community will be discussing the current state of our rights and what work still needs to be done in light of the recent SCOTUS marriage ruling. From 6:30-8:30pm, discover how you can help end discrimination and bring us closer to full equality under the law. We all know that while we’ve made huge leaps forward in this current Administration, there is still a long way to go for acceptance, battling workplace policies, and having businesses and municipalities recognize us as fellow human beings.

Per the Facebook invite:

Please join us for a FREE community meeting to celebrate the Supreme Court’s ruling and to discuss the continuing work to achieve full LGBTQ equality.

• Attorneys from Lambda Legal, the ACLU of Washington, Legal Voice, and the QLaw Foundation will explain the Supreme Court’s ruling and answer questions.

•… We will have a community discussion with leaders from organizations working to change the law and public policy about what lies ahead in the fight for full LGBTQ equality.

Please RSVP to QLaw.events@gmail.com.

What lies ahead for us? Fabulous clothes and the no-longer-soooo-uphill battle for full equality! No matter which event you attend, or even if you go to both, have fun keeping up the PRIDE spirit!
