September 24, 2015• byMichael Strangeways

Seattle PrideFest magically turned into a non-profit awhile back so now they have the joy of putting on FUNDRAISERS so they can continue to do magical things like put on terrific Seattle Pride Festival events during our annual celebrations on the last weekend in June AND help keep those events FREE for everyone! Remember, Seattle is one of the few major metropolitan cities to put on Pride events that are free to the public; most cities charge admission prices to see staged events!

To kick off the fundraising cycle, PrideFest is putting on a fun event this October; the Mad Hatter Fundraising Dinner Gala will take place Saturday, October 24, 2015 (one month away from today!) at the Russian Community Center on Capitol Hill.

From their press release:

This is our first ever fundraising gala and we have tons of fun in store for you!

It is our hope that the contributions we raise this year will help us to continue to keep Seattle PrideFest free, develop grant programs for burgeoning pride organizations in rural areas and around the globe, and continue to contribute to the fight for equality.

In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
