And, the final pieces of the Seattle Red Dress 2016 puzzle fall into place this week with the announcement that World Famous Britney Spears impersonator and current RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 8 contestant DERRICK BARRY will be a headliner at this year’s mega charity ball event, being held at Fremont Studios on April 2, 2016. Barry joins the already announced ULTRA NATÉ and DJs Bret Law, Tina T. and Dana Dub.

And, Seattle PrideFest, who now produce the Seattle Red Dress gala event, have also announced the VIP Hosts for this year’s party:

AND, remember you MUST show up in a RED dress! That’s the whole point of the night…EVERYONE wears a red dress to show solidarity for the fight to beat HIV/AIDS! That means you DON’T wear pants or shorts! A red SKIRT is ok, (with a red top, naturally) and it’s ok to have a TINY bit of another color if you’re wearing a print fabric but that means wearing a RED plaid (with black as part of the plaid) or RED polka dots (contrasting with black or white background) etc. There’s no “RED Rule” but a Red Dress would indicate that RED is the dominant color.

(Pink is not red. Orange is not red. Maroon…not really red/red but no one is gonna throw you out…)

Please note you do not have to wear Red shoes or accessories…though fashion savvy folks will want to coordinate, of course!

AND, this doesn’t mean you have to do “drag”. “Femme” make-up, wigs, high heels, purses, etc, are NOT a requirement to attend Red Dress Party!

Now, go out there and find the most awesome RED DRESS that you can find!

About the Author: Michael Strangeways

As the Editorial Director/Co-Owner, Michael Strangeways writes, edits and does about a million other jobs for Seattle Gay Scene, Puget Sound's most visited LGBTQ news, arts and entertainment website now celebrating its 14th year as a media outlet. A semi-proud Midwesterner by birth, he's lived in Seattle since 2000. He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
