Aleksa Manila returns as host for the 12th annual ICON fundraiser for Seattle Counseling Service.

It’s back for the 12th time…Seattle Counseling Service is delighted to bring back its beloved annual fundraiser, “ICON: a celebration of drag, art & life!” with hostess (and Seattle Counseling Service employee) ALEKSA MANILA on hand to preside over a big, juicy line-up of talent. And, for the first time, ICON will take place at the Seattle Marriott Waterfront Hotel.

More poo:

Seattle Counseling Service (SCS) will present its 12th annual benefit, ICON: a celebration of drag, art & life! taking place at the Seattle Marriott Waterfront Hotel on April 10, 2016, featuring SCS’s very own Aleksa Manila with International Cabaret Sensation Arnaldo! Drag Chanteuse, the always Hilarious Atasha Manila, Drag King Champion Ernie Von Schmaltz, Miss Exotic World Indigo Blue, Celebrity Impersonator Isaac Scott, Burlesque Rock Star Iva Handfull, Drag King La Gaviota, Dynamic Burlesque Trio Mod Carousel, and The Sensational Shanghai Pearl. Plus VIP Reception special performances by Sparkle Leigh, Nickolai Pirak and Brian Buck on the piano.

Seattle Counseling Service is proud to bring “ICON: a celebration of drag, art & life!” to the Seattle Marriott Waterfront Hotel for the first time. ICON will feature a dinner and show spectacle with Aleksa Manila as Master of Ceremonies with amazing acts featuring burlesque, dance, comedy, live singing and of course, drag! ICON highlights the tremendous work SCS provides through mental health therapy, addiction treatment, case management and social services that is critical and relevant to Seattle’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer community since 1969.

This event is proudly sponsored by Group Health, Living Care Lifestyles, Swedish Medical Center, 1st Security Bank, Amerigroup, Foster Pepper and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Media sponsors are Seattle Gay Scene, Seattle Gay News and The Seattle Lesbian.

Early bird discount rates begin February 10 until March 10 with General Admission tickets at $100 and VIP tickets at $150. Regular ticket prices are $125 GA and $175 VIP. Tickets can be purchased online at www.seattlecounseling.org/icon.

Seattle Counseling Service is a community based organization that has been dedicated to promoting health and wellness within the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community for 47 years.

We’re always dee-lighted to media support ICON and Seattle Counseling Service, who have been helping our community for nearly a half a century…they were the pioneer LGBTQ organization for Seattle.

About the Author: Michael Strangeways

As the Editorial Director/Co-Owner, Michael Strangeways writes, edits and does about a million other jobs for Seattle Gay Scene, Puget Sound's most visited LGBTQ news, arts and entertainment website now celebrating its 14th year as a media outlet. A semi-proud Midwesterner by birth, he's lived in Seattle since 2000. He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
