More Officialness: Local Katya Shows Moved To 2019 While Star Takes A Break

Drag star KATYA postpones Pacific Northwest appearances

As we reported on Tuesday, January 16th, “RuPaul’s Drag Race” star KATYA had a rather public meltdown on social media the other day proclaiming she needs to take time off to focus on her health which instantly put into doubt her ability to meet her scheduled performances in the Pacific Northwest this spring.

It’s now official and confirmed by Five Senses Reeling, the local producing group that was bringing Katya and her rather prophetically named solo show, “Help Me I’m Dying” to Seattle, Portland and Boise in the weeks ahead….all shows will be pushed to 2019 and ticket holders for the 2018 shows can get refunds.

RuPaul’s Drag Race star Katya Zamolodchikova has rescheduled her 2018 Northwest US shows, due to health reasons.

SEATTLE, WA (January 18, 2018) – Katya, whose real name is Brian McCook, has announced that he will be postponing all his current bookings and shows until 2019 due to personal health reasons.

The American drag artist announced via an Instagram live video he would be taking a break from performing, which has led to the postponement of his UK & US tours, to focus on his health. In it, he said: “I’m tired, I’m exhausted, my brain doesn’t work anymore…I need to take vacations, like a normal person. I’m not dying, I want to live. Today, and yesterday. And before. But I need to take a vacation, because I want to survive, like Gloria Gaynor.” In a statement on Twitter, he continued “I need to take some personal time for my mental health to heal and recover.  All of my tours and shows will be postponed until 2019.  Local venues will provide an update over the next several weeks.”  The Instagram and Twitter announcements were confirmed by Katya’s management, Producer Entertainment Group.

Five Senses Reeling, the Northwest US producer bringing the show to Boise, Portland, and Seattle this spring is working with Katya’s management to finalize the dates for the rescheduled shows.

All tickets for the current shows will be refunded in the next few days and customers will be alerted to the availability of tickets to the rescheduled shows when available. Questions regarding refunds should be directed to the ticketing site customers purchased their tickets through.

But, not necessarily in that order.
