Lifelong’s fun annual Drag Queen Gay Bingo returns to live events in July with Usual Suspects, hostess Aleksa Manila and DJ Disco Vinnie! But, with a twist…a timely and beloved theme to the popular fundraiser for Lifelong and the services they provide like Chicken Soup Brigade.
The twist is: BETTY WHITE!
Yes, the smart folks at Lifelong decided to theme their return with utilizing the popularity of the much beloved and much mourned icon, actress Betty White who died at the end of December just a few weeks short of her 100th birthday. They’re encouraging you to come dressed as your favorite Betty White character and to enjoy their Golden Girls inspired cocktail created for the event, “The Rose Nylund” named after her much loved character on the seminal 80s/90s television show.
And, for those of you asking and to prevent everyone from showing up as Rose Nyland, Betty was also famous for her hilariously bitchy and oversexed character on The Mary Tyler Moore Show: Sue Ann Nivens. PLUS, she was also the selfishly snobby and bitchy older sister/older daughter, Ellen Harper Jackson on Mama’s Family and crazy old Elka on the sitcom Hot in Cleveland.
She even popped up on the soap opera The Bold & The Beautiful in a recurring role!
