Tickets On Sale For Tina Turner Tribute Show At Showbox

June 9, 2023• byMichael Strangeways

For all of us who loved the rock ‘n roll icon TINA TURNER, losing her this past May 24th was tough. The iconic performer from Nutbush Tennessee has been part of our lives for the past 50+ years not only as the Queen of Rock but as a strong proud survivor of domestic abuse at the hands of her then husband, Ike Turner. She overcame those hardships and forged an international career full of brilliant music and stage performances.

Oh, and the occassional film…who doesn’t adore her Acid Queen in Tommy or Auntie Entity in Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome?

Local fans of Tina have put together a tribute show to honor Miss Tina and it’s happening July 1st at The Showbox and features a slew of amazing female talents including:

Adra Boo, Brittany Davis, Stephanie Anne Johnson, Maya Marie, Marquetta Miller, Mirrorgloss, Shaina Shepard, Molly Sides, Eva Walker, Tiffany Wilson

Tickets just went on sale and we’re guessing it could quickly sell out…we all loved Tina and we love these performers for honoring her legacy.

And, of course, a big toast to the one and only Tina Turner…SALUD!

About the Author: Michael Strangeways

As the Editorial Director/Co-Owner, Michael Strangeways writes, edits and does about a million other jobs for Seattle Gay Scene, Puget Sound's most visited LGBTQ news, arts and entertainment website now celebrating its 14th year as a media outlet. A semi-proud Midwesterner by birth, he's lived in Seattle since 2000. He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
