They’ve bopped into Seattle last year on their first tour but they return on Monday, May 20th as the first stop on their CATCH ME IF YOU CAN TOUR…the “they” in question is rising new rock/pop group THE SCARLET OPERA and they’re snagging attention from all over the place as those in the know latch on to the group’s soaring pop ballads that have a fun edge to them.
Their growing success can also be attributed to the fact they’re all VERY adorable…lead singer and lyricist LUKA BAZULKA grabs a lot of the attention in that familiar way most good looking, charismatic lead singers that are allergic to shirts do but really…the whole band is easy on the eyes. The southern California group started out in 2016 when Bazulka teamed up with Colin Kenrick (Pianist), Daniel Zuker (Bassist), Justin Siegal (Drummer), and Chance Taylor (Guitarist) to form their first group, Perta. They gained a tiny bit of notice but Covid interrupted things and they reconfigured in 2022 as The Scarlet Opera named in honor of the novel “The Scarlet Letter” to represent “the misunderstood and misrepresented”.
And, yes, lead singer Luka Bazulka is gay. The rest of the band seems to be…not. But, obviously major allies.
