Save The Puppies and Kitties of Tacoma!

November 14, 2024• byMichael Strangeways

The Humane Society of Tacoma and Pierce County needs your help! They have too many dog and cat babies and the shelter is FULL! If you’re in need of a new fur baby, come check them out online at https://www.thehumanesociety.org/ and in person at 2608 Center Street, Tacoma, WA 98409

More poo:

We come to you, our amazing community, in urgent need of help.

Our shelter is beyond full. There are nearly 130 dogs in our care, with only 89 kennels available, plus 70 in foster homes. Dozens of dogs are sharing space, including one kennel with SEVEN small dogs.

𝐀𝐝𝐨𝐩𝐭: From November 14-17, we are waiving adoption fees for all dogs. You can even foster-to-adopt a dog awaiting spay/neuter surgery.

π…π¨π¬ππžπ«: We’re in desperate need of foster families, especially for large-breed dogs. Every temporary home makes a world of difference. Learn more about fostering here:Β thehumanesociety.org/get-involved/foster/

𝐋𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐞𝐭𝐬: Prevent animals from entering the shelter by helping find their families. We will provide supplies and food while you temporarily hold them. If you’ve lost or found an animal, visit our Lost/Found page for the steps to follow:Β thehumanesociety.org/lost-and-found-pets/

πƒπ¨π§πšππž: This capacity crisis has put a massive strain on our resources. If you are able, please consider making a monetary gift to help animals in need.Β thehumanesociety.org/donate/

π’π©π«πžπšπ 𝐭𝐑𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝: Help us raise awareness by sharing our message through Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Nextdoor, community gatherings, and with friends and family.

Thank you to everyone for your support!

About the Author: Michael Strangeways

As the Editorial Director/Co-Owner, Michael Strangeways writes, edits and does about a million other jobs for Seattle Gay Scene, Puget Sound's most visited LGBTQ news, arts and entertainment website now celebrating its 14th year as a media outlet. A semi-proud Midwesterner by birth, he's lived in Seattle since 2000. He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
