Rock Hudson, Cary Grant and director George Cukor are Hollywood names from the Golden Age frequently associated with “man on man” love, but a new memoir arriving Valentine’s Day, “Full Service: My Adventures in Hollywood and the Secret Sex Lives of the Stars” by notorious male prostitute/”madame” Scotty Bowers is about to blow the door off of the Hollywood Closet. Mr. Bowers was a WWII veteran and a Marine who returned to Los Angeles at the end of the war and started working as a gas station attendant at the corner of Van Ness Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard not far from Paramount studios. One day, actor Walter Pidgeon pulled up to get his tank filled and admired the way Scotty handled his equipment…soon, the word about the full line of services offered at the gas station spread, and Scotty began hooking up clients with his handsome, willing friends eager to make an easy quick buck in the post war economy.

Rumored about for years, the notorious Scotty, who retired in the early 1980’s with the onset of the AIDS epidemic, had previously refused all offers to tell his story publicly. Now 88 years old and married to his wife of 27 years, the former call-boy decided that it was safe to tell his story; all clients mentioned in the book are deceased, but the list includes a Who’s Who list of names of clients that Scotty either personally serviced, or pimped for:
