Sub Pop Records, Precision Door Service and an anonymous donor via Alaska Airlines have each contributed $5000 to the Space Needle Community Challenge bringing the total amount raised to $37,610.27. After the controversy over the Needle’s decision to not fly the Pride flag this year, the management of the Needle responded with a challenge to the community to raise $50,000 for four local non-profits: GSBA’s Scholarship Program, Lambda Legal, Mary’s Place and The It Gets Better Project. But, regardless if the amount is raised or not, the Pride flag will be raised this Sunday, following its appearance in the Seattle Pride Parade.
