Our favorite motormouth/D-lister/comedian Kathy Griffin is sassin’ it up on an upcoming episode of Glee…To make things more interesting, she’s playing a “Tea Party” arch conservative along the lines of Sarah Palin.
Obviously, Glee is following in the tradition of creator Ryan Murphy’s previous show, Nip/Tuck with an excessive number of splashy guest star appearances. Yes, it’s “fun”, but it does distract from the plot and the original characters on the show. Between the huge regular cast, the guest star appearances and the numerous theme episodes, the original plot lines and major character development is pretty much a thing of the past. Makes you wonder how happy this makes the “stars” of the show, Matthew Morrison and diva in residence Lea Michelle. Compared to the first season, neither one of their characters is getting much air time, and virtually no character development. We’re sure they’re locked into tight contracts, but Murphy has indicated that characters will leave the show as the characters age out of their roles. The press has speculated that Mark Saling’s Puck is rumored to be on the potential “hit list”, but both Morrison and Michelle are major draws; if they grow dissatisfied with the direction of their roles, will they be allowed to leave? Could Glee survive without Mr Schue and/or Rachael?
