To get everyone up to speed, we have six queens still standing in this season’s competition of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Last week, the queens stirred up the laughter and the drama all in one recipe. Manila and Delta delivered one fierce lip sync for their lives and RuPaul sent Detla home with love. Who’s gonna go home this week with her wigs and mascara?
This week the game is hotter and one can only anticipate the evil voodoo magic that Shangela will bring into the show. But first the gals need to make a bedazzled brassiere for the mini challenge. All the bras were fierce and talented, but did you see that look of a “read” that Rupaul gave Shangela. Girl – it’s cold in here!
So the gals get to writing and everyone for the most part are having some difficutlities writing their PSA message. In the studio for the video shoot some of the girls could have really brought more material to play with. I personally think Manila and Raja are not taking this competition seriously, which is surprising to me since a few episodes back we caugh Raja stating that she needed some real competition. Well, girl it’s time to step up your game and level it with Alexis and (dare I say this?) Shangela.
Cheryl Tiegs and Johnny Weir were the two guest judges this week and Santino Rice made his way back for a special appearance sporting an early American wig worn by those politicians that we’ve come to dislike. Johnny Weir should be a permanent judge on this show for all the witty, smart and constructive criticism the queens got from this Olympic icon. We love you Johnny Weir! What was Cheryl Tiegs doing there, I mean really? It felt like she was an out of work celebrity and RuPaul was giving her some juice to play with. I didn’t like that!
Under the judging round, everyone got narked one way or another, including Alexis Mateo, who won the main challenge for this week. But who is in the bottom two? That would be Carmen Carerra and Yara Sofia. What? What? No one went home this week? RuPaul saved both Carmen and Yara. But the question becomes who is the winner of tonight’s lip sync? No wonder why I couldn’t find condolences on any of these queen’s Facebook pages by their fans.
This explains so much!
What do you mean Raja isn’t taking the competition seriously? Her PSA was the most personal and heartfelt. You know what happens to LGBTQ people in Indonesia, don’t you? eyeroll.
Isn’t it obvious who won the lipsynch? Carmen kissed Johnny Weir, sparking an absolute uproar of jealousy among his fans (and, I suspect, the queens onstage). She wins!
Everyone is entitled their own opinion and I respect you chiming in and giving us a side to this competition that is not talked about. Thank you!
Yes! I thought that was a smart move on Carmen’s part. Next week’s episode should be interesting! Thanks for chiming in!
