We’re VERY excited that RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 3 contestant Yara Sofia is coming to Seattle this weekend for two shows at LeFaux at Julia’s on Broadway. She was probably our overall favorite contestant last season; she was a fresh, funny, charming ball of energy and quirky wit and we were heartbroken when she was sent home…and delighted when she won “Miss Congeniality” at the reunion show, even if her prize was a trip to the Bahamas, which was a bit ridiculous since she’s from Puerto Rico. It’s like giving a Seattle drag queen an all expenses paid trip to Bellingham…big whoo.
Anyway, the lovely Yara is beaming into Seattle for two shows, this Friday and Saturday night with the talented regular cast of LeFaux. Tickets are available at Brown Paper Tickets, or at the door if it doesn’t sell out. (It could sell out; Miss Yara has a lot of fans.)
And, if the presence of Yara wasn’t enough, it’s also an opportunity to say good bye to the lovely Mama Tits/Busty McGee as she winds down her stint as the hostess of LeFaux…I believe there’s only a month left before she leaves LeFaux (but not Seattle…at least we don’t think so) on her climb to the top of her media empire. (Also, Ms Mama/Busty has a lot on her plate; she’s also busy promoting the premiere of her film, Heart Breaks Open at the Seattle Lesbian & Gay Film Festival and the film’s subsequent release on DVD/Home video in November…more on that, in future posts.)
In the meanwhile, we’ll countdown the minutes until our beloved Yara hits town…
Echa pa’lante!
