RECAP: Episode 11 of “The Walking Dead:” “I Ain’t a Judas.” OK, if you say so…

February 25, 2013• bySeattle Gay Scene

Walking Dead

This week’s episode of “The Walking Dead” titled “I Ain’t a Judas” was dark, atmospheric and a bit of a snoozer.  Let’s get into it, if I can stay awake.

This week’s episode opened with the prison gang regrouping inside after the Guvnor’s deadly attack.  Hershel wants to bug out.  Daddy Rick wants to stay and fight, Glenn supports Rick and the rest for the most part hold their peace.  When Daddy Rick wanders off to check the perimeter Hershel calls his ass out and tells him if he wants to be a dictator step and up and dictate.

Carl follows Daddy Rick out and tells him to stop being leader that he deserves a break and Daryl and Hershel can take care of shit.  Thanks Carl, now get a haircut.

Back at Stepbury the Guvnor is arming every able bodied person with the help of his toady, Milton.  LABB Drea storms in and confronts the Guvnor about the prison.  He feeds her a lie about going there to negotiate and that the prison gang opened fire first.  This time around LABB seems skeptical.  She then goes on to say she wants to visit the prison and the Guvnor tells her to…

OK so this episode draaaaaaggggged and I am going to summarize the rest quickly:

  1. The prison gang prepares for battle and so does Stepbury.
  2. Milton betrays LABB Drea to the Guvnor after she asks for his help to get out of Stepbury and to the prison.  The Guvnor tells him to go ahead and help her.
  3. LABB Drea goes to  the prison and there is a lot of tense conversation.  Carol tells her to fuck the Guv hard and then kill him (GO CAROL!!!).  Michonne then shames LABB Drea  on her way out.
  4. More blah, blah, blah…oh and Tyrese’s group ends up in Woodbury and offers the Guvnor help to fight Daddy Rick’s prison gang.
  5. In a surprising yet not turn LABB Drea actually does fuck the Guvnor and stands over him with a knife but of course she can’t do it and simply shakes in the moonlight.
  6. Back at the prison Daddy Rick decides to go on a run to find more weapons to fight the Guvnor.

And scene…

Good lord I need an upper.  So this episode wasn’t bad but we are getting dangerously close to the ennui that gripped the show during the stay at Hershel’s farm.  It is obvious that the producers are going to stretch the conflict with the Guvnor through the end of this season.  Not necessarily a bad thing but the show needs to build momentum and soon.  That being said it is still the best show on TV these days.
