Blobs of options for this grey, bleak Thursday, February 28…
1) The Palm Springs White Party is soon and Seattle is kicking off the festivities locally at The Baltic Room tonight with DJ Brian Gorr and hostess Robbie Turner and all sorts of surprises.
2) It’s sad, but true…Seattle’s biggest LadyDude, Miss Ursula Major is leaving the Emerald City for exciting new opportunities in Arizona (who knew such things existed?) We have a sneaky feeling she’ll be back for visits but until her Grand Return, the last chance to see her perform was last night at Neighbours…however, we have reason to believe she might be paying a farewell tour tonight sans “face” so look out for her to wish Ursula/Justin a tearful good-bye…we’re gonna miss that big ladylug. (Pssst…rumor has it, she might be partying at The Grill on Broadway later tonight…pop in and give her a bear hug…)
3) One of our favorite musical groups, The Love Markets, the Weimar era tribute band, is performing at the Can-Can tonight…despite the fact that Nick Garrison is not currently performing with the group, we still think they are awesome. Come check out the lovely vocal stylings of Angie Louise and her slip gowned boys as they channel the era of Marlene Dietrich, UFA Studios and the hyperinflation of late 20’s/early 30’s Berlin!
4) It’s not the gayest venue around, but The Capitol Club is very gay friendly and tonight they present “Crisp” with our favorite resident DJ Skiddle (who we foolishly haven’t seen in ages) with his special guest DJ Pavone, another one of our favorite peoples. Check out their spinning tonight after 9:30pm at the Capitol Club, 414 East Pine Street!
