Annual events that raise money for local non-profits who do good things make us very, very happy…
It’s March so that means it’s time for Rise n’ Shine’s big fun fundraiser, “The Big Bail Out” which cleverly raises funds for the group which helps both kids battling HIV/AIDS and the children of parents with HIV/AIDS, by locking up some of the most troublesome souls in our community and forcing them to raise “bail” to get themselves out of the pokey. It’s a win/win situation as it raises money for the group AND keeps troublemakers off the streets of Capitol Hill for a few hours!
This year’s event is Wednesday, March 6 starting at 6:30pm at The Grill on Broadway. For the last few weeks, “jail birds” and the teams they are on have been soliciting bail money but if you haven’t been contacted, fret not…come by the Grill on Wednesday to help bail out the riff raff AND give the moneys to Rise n’ Shine!
If you do know the name of a convict and their team, you can go post bail at this secure site, Click and Pledge and pay via credit card or e-check. Otherwise, show up at the Grill and remember that the bail money will send kids affected by HIV/AIDS to camp this summer!
