It’s HOT outside and it’s gonna be HOT inside tonight (Saturday, March 30) ’cause there are a lot of HOT events going on all over the Hill…
Star power wise, Q wins the jackpot because Jake Shears, frontman for the Scissor Sisters, will be djing at the club tonight with DJ Trouble and DJ Almond Brown. They want you to dress “dirty” which you should interpret as ZEXY and not as “I haven’t washed these pants in a month”. For your added pleasure, Ben DeLaCreme, Waxie Moon and Mama Tits will be wandering around the club as “hostessess” which in the old days would mean whores but the meaning has apparently been changed to “drag personalities selling gelatin laced with booze treats”. The doors open at 8pm and it’s FREE until 10pm when the cover goes to $10 and the party lasts until 3am. If you’re poor/cheap you should obviously show up early…also, since there is a “name” in the house, it’s likely to be packed with horny homosexuals desperate to get within licking distance of Mr. Shears. We hope he is well protected by Q security…it is cold/flu season and Mr. Shears doesn’t need to catch something nasty from a well meaning fan with a roving tongue.
Meanwhile, down the street at The Seattle Eagle, DJ Nark is serving up Nark branded filth with Two Dudes in Love from San Francisco, a lovely pair of djs/producers who will debut a new collaboration with Jinkx Monsoon. (Alas, Miss Monsoon is in NEW YORK CITY tonight…) Nark and Recess will also be djing and you can expect the usual array of go go dancers, gelatin shots and general dirty fun. It’s also a birfday event for our favorite Capitol Hill stylist to the stars, Zakaria, and Scott “The Bucket”‘s bachelor party. It’ll be…messy fun from 10pm to 3am.
At R Place, they’re offering up softball jocks from 4pm to 8pm for a kick-off party for the Emerald City Softball Association…who doesn’t enjoy a gay dude with softballs? Later on at R Place, it’s Lashes Cabaret with special guest Lineysha Sparkx, the Puerto Rican beauty (both as a boy AND as a girl) from this season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” joining the cast. Miss Sparkx’s lack of English speaking skills doomed her on the Race, but from a beauty perspective, she was the clear winner. Lashes features Chablis, DonnaTella Howe, La Saveona Hunt, Freedom Rights, and Alessandra Hunt and the fun starts at 9:30pm…general admission tickets ($10) available at the door.
ALL these events are 21+…sorry, Queer Youth of Seattle.
