Big Bail Out Happens Wednesday At Lobby Bar

It’s spring and it’s April so many, many events happen in gay Seattle…we had Spring Thaw this past weekend and DINE OUT FOR LIFE is Thursday, April 24 and another big annual fundraiser is happening THIS Wednesday, April 16…

It’s THE BIG BAIL OUT, the annual fundraiser event for INSPIRE YOUTH PROJECT, (the group formerly known as “Rise ‘n’ Shine”) the non-profit that “offers emotional support and advocacy to at-risk children and youth” including kids dealing with HIV/AIDS. The “Big Bail Out” raises money every year by “locking up” community leaders and business people who then have to raise bail money to “get outta jail”.

For many, many years The Grill on Broadway was the enthusiastic host for the event. Since their sad demise last year, that mantle of community leadership has been picked up by LOBBY BAR. The event is Wednesday from 4pm to 9pm. Here’s more info on the event which raises money to send kids to Inspire Youth Project’s annual summer camp:

Inspire Youth Project’s annual Big Bail Out is a western-themed jail & bail fundraiser. Local outlaw- volunteers are thrown into jail at The Lobby Bar. They are given some grub, and asked to raise bail by emailing and/or calling everyone and anyone they know. Outlaws are sometimes jailed in teams of four with the goal of sending two kids to Inspire Youth Project’s Summer Camp.

This is a jail you will enjoy. It’s fun, it’s zany, the grub is good, and it’s for the kids!

For reasons unknown, their website or Facebook page doesn’t list the teams/members so you can pledge your money to bail a specific person out…we know Purr and owner Barbie Humphrey are involved as Team Feline; Barbie’s been a huge supporter of this event for many years. We’re pretty sure the pretty boys of Purr would NOT do well in jail…CAGED MEAT would eat them ALIVE!!!
