Good News/Bad News For “Twin Peaks” Fans

Poor Ronette…she waited too late to uuy her tickets to local Twin Peaks events in August.

For some reason, early August is prime time season for fans of the nutty David Lynch/Mark Frost iconic television series, “Twin Peaks”…at least  locally in the area where the original pilot was filmed back in 1989 in the North Bend/Fall City area of rural/suburban King County. Every year there’s a big “Twin Peaks Festival” up in North Bend where dozens of chubby, middle aged Gen Xers gather to pay homage to their favorite show with a weekend full of tours and dinners and special guest appearances from “Twin Peaks” actors/crew desperate to relive their glory days when they worked on the hottest show on TV. This year’s festival runs August 1 to the August 3 and features:

Confirmed Celebrity guests:

Sherilyn Fenn
(Audrey Horne)

Jen Lynch
Director, Secret Diary author

Chris Mulkey
(Hank Jennings)

James Marshall
(James Hurley)

Kimmy Robertson
(Lucy Moran)

Wendy Robie
(Nadine Hurley)

Charlotte Stewart
(Betty Briggs)

Connie Woods
(“The New Girl at One-Eyed Jack’s”)

That’s a lot of prime actors, but sadly, the festival is sold out. So, if you’re REALLY desperate to catch a glimpse of  “Nadine” or “Audrey’, you’ll need to lurk around North Bend. (Be warned that Twede’s Cafe, the real setting for the show’s iconic diner, actually has AWFUL pie…or, at least used to. I went two years ago and it was really shitty pie but someone since then has told me that it’s gotten better. You be the judge….)

I'm shocked no one in Seattle ever opened a Twin Peaks inspired bar...

On the Happier News front, you CAN still grab tickets to the 2nd Annual Twin Peaks Dance Party at Fred Wildlife Refuge happening on Friday, August 8. The same folks did a similar party at Re-bar last year and it was a huge hit. They’ve moved to a bigger venue and added even more acts to the bill for Year Two. Here’s more poo:
