Tickle Your Bone with The Gay Uncle Time and West Side Glory

October 15, 2014• byFletcher Sandbeck

What do Mark “Mom” Finley, Allison Lizotte, Cherry Tart, Andy Iwancio, Jess Norton, and DeAnne Smith have in common? They are all funny as hell and likely joining host Jeffrey Robert in hell after performing at The Gay Uncle Time at 7 p.m. this Wednesday at the Rendezvous Grotto ($5, 21 and up).

I imagine everyone has, or is, a gay uncle. The confirmed bachelor who seems like a refined gentlemen with all his appreciation of art, musicals, and the leading men of the sixties until you find out he spends his weekends getting smashed at amateur strip shows followed by cruising at the baths.

The Gay Uncle Time is a spin-off of the popular Comedy Womb which gives local funny women a chance to shine. Last month’s show featured inspirational readings from Valley of the Dolls. This month’s show promises more story time and a “pleasure festival … featuring tales of a life well led”.

The Gay Uncle Time will be held every third Wednesday of the month at the Rendezvous Grotto. Each month will feature different guest stars. The next installation is this Wednesday, October 15 at 7 p.m, $5 at the door, 21 and up.

If you haven’t got your fill of Jeffrey Robert you can catch him again at 8 p.m. this Saturday hosting West Side Glory in West Seattle at the Skylark Cafe and Club, $12 at the door, 21 and up.

Jeffrey Robert will be joined by David Johnson, Barbara Sehr, DonnaTella Howe, Bella Luna, House of Darling, Deja Nouveau, Allison Lizotte, Nick Ripley, and the ever delightful Mizz Honey Bucket. We are promised laughs, wigs, disrobing, music, and butt-shaking go-go bears.
