Sad News As Forward Flux Announces “Vacation”…But “Beauty Boiz” To Continue

Depressing local theater news as FORWARD FLUX announces they’re “taking a vacation” after producing full theater productions, readings, and other events for the past five years. The theater/arts group frequently produced shows and events with an LGBTQ focus, reflecting the backgrounds of its founder and artist director Wesley Frugé who released the news via an interview with local Seattle arts media outlet City Arts (which itself has just announced they’re also closing up shop.)

Good news: Frugé and other Forward Fluxians will continue producing BEAUTY BOIZ events including next week’s “Recklessly, Headlessly: A Robyn Party” on November 15th to be held at Fred Wildlife Refuge…you can still grab tickets for that HERE.

More on the FF vacation but also a toast to Forward Flux and the great work they accomplished.

Salud!

big announcement.

Thank you so much for supporting Forward Flux over the years. If you saw one show or all of them, served on the board or volunteered to usher an event, danced with us on a What the Float or joined a Flux Salon reading, we could not have gotten to where we are without you – THANK YOU. It was just announced today in City Arts, that after 5 years producing non-stop in Seattle, Forward Flux has decided to take a vacation.

You can learn more about this decision by reading the City Arts interview with our Founder + Artistic Director, Wesley Frugé.

While we’re on our much-needed vacation, we won’t have any productions or new play events in Seattle, but you can still join our queer night life events with BeautyBoiz. You can learn more about BeautyBoiz below.

We will let you know if/when new plans are made, but until then, you won’t be receiving email newsletters from us. In the meantime, we wish you safe travels and many creative returns.

Thank you,
The Forward Flux team

“Forward Flux has also always put its money where its mouth is in terms of elevating new talent. Their fully produced plays have included Benjamin Benne’s las mariposas Y los muertos, Chisa Hutchinson’s The Wedding Gift and Claire Kiechel’s Pilgrims. Lindsay Joelle’s A Small History of Amal, Age 7 which ran at West of Lenin in September as a co-presentation with Pratidhwani, will be the company’s last show for the foreseeable future. We sat down with (Artistic Director Wesley) Frugé to talk about the uphill battle of producing theater in 2018 Seattle, as well as the company’s past, present and possible future.”

how you can help.

You’ve already done so much for us, but if you’re looking for a way to send us on vacation with a bang, consider making a tax-deductible donation to help us close out the year strong.

But, not necessarily in that order.
