It’s important to get regularly tested for HIV, especially if you’re a man having sex with other men. National HIV Testing Day is Thursday, June 27th and now is a great time to get that test done…to that end, participating Walgreen’s pharmacies are offering free HIV testing.
In the Seattle area, the Walgreens at 2400 South Jackson St in the Central District is a participant. Go here to find one near YOU!

National HIV Testing Day (June 27) is almost here. Despite strides in HIV treatment and prevention over the last two decades, new infections continue to be a challenge, particularly among LGBTQ communities:
- Gay and bisexual men still account for 66% of all HIV diagnoses in the United States and 25% of gay men living with HIV do not know their status.
- Use of PrEP, an approach to prevention with a once-a-day pill, among gay and bisexual men was lower among African American (26 percent) and Latino men (30 percent) than White men (42 percent).
Getting an HIV test is the first step to identifying people with the HIV infection, and the pivotal entry point into the medical care system for both treatment and prevention.
Walgreens and Greater Than AIDS are launching their largest free in-store testing and education event to date at Walgreens stores in more than 240 cities as part of an ongoing commitment to extend the reach of HIV testing and information within communities.
