Emerald Downs Racetrack is celebrating Pride this Saturday with Corgi Racing happening on August 4th!!

Of the two options, the idea of Corgi dogs racing each other at a race track is far more exciting than “Gay Night at Emerald Downs” but we all celebrate “gay” in our own ways…but, really. Is there anything gayer than corgi dog love?

I mean, the Queen of England adores them…it’s QUEENY!

For those of you who enjoy a traditional night of marketing to the gays, there’s this, happening this Saturday, July 27th starting at 5pm:

PRIDE NIGHT • RIDE FOR RACEHORSES • PRINCE & GEORGE MICHAEL/WHAM TRIBUTES

It’s just boring old horses racing each other but you also get the benefit of weeping along to Prince and George Michael cover bands afterward on the 5th Floor.

Info for Pride Night:

Pride Night at the track starts at 5 PM.

$9 admission • 17 and under free • Tickets

DJ music during the races near the Winner’s Circle.

Info for Corgi Racing Night:

72 of the cutest Corgis in the region will race at Emerald Downs between horse races. Some will run, some will play, but everyone will have fun. The day starts with the “Parade of the Corgis.” Don’t miss the fun, bring the whole family. Ages 17 and under get in free.

About the Author: Michael Strangeways

As the Editorial Director/Co-Owner, Michael Strangeways writes, edits and does about a million other jobs for Seattle Gay Scene, Puget Sound's most visited LGBTQ news, arts and entertainment website now celebrating its 14th year as a media outlet. A semi-proud Midwesterner by birth, he's lived in Seattle since 2000. He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
