The Lavender Rights Project and Pacific Northwest Black Pride are teaming up to present an online workshop on Wednesday, November 9th from 6:30pm to 8pm. Proclaiming our “future is at risk” and how do we “protect our queer ass futures?” the workshop will feature three community leaders:
Rep. Kirsten Harris Talley who represents the 37th legislative district in the Washington House; J Mase III, a Black trans, queer American poet and educator whose book The Black Trans Prayer Book won a Lambda Literary Award for Transgender Nonfiction; and Senator Marko Liias who represents the 21st legislative district in the Washington Senate.
The workshop will be led by Lavender Rights Project Executive Director Jaelynn Scott.

The future is at risk! Protecting our queer-ass futures!
How do we fight back to protect our future and work in solidarity with trans youth across the country.
Current anti-trans/anti-bodily autonomy legislation introduced in state assemblies across the country threaten years of progress towards LGBTQ justice and civil rights. Anti trans youth bills are an attack on the most vulnerable in our community, LGBTQ children and youth. Anti-abortion efforts are similarly targeting the gender justice movement. Black gender diverse femmes are the most at risk. How do we fight back to protect our future and work in solidarity with trans youth across the country.
