Well, we believe the ship has sailed/train left the station to PURCHASE tickets to Emerald City Comicon which is happening this weekend, March 28-30 at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle. Rumor has it you can MAYBE find overpriced scalper’s tickets but Buyer Beware! Among the autograph/photo charging celebrity guests this year: Richard Dean Anderson, Michael Biehn, Michael Biehn’s wife, John de Lancie (aka “Q” from ST: TNG), The Dushku, KAREN GILLAN from Dr. Who (!!!!), NICHELLE NICHOLS (!!!!) and lots and lots of folks we’ve never heard of but undoubtedly worth $30 for an autograph.
Even if you waited too long to snag ‘con tickets you can still enjoy the geeky atmosphere this weekend. Seattle social maven Alex Garcia is throwing the 2nd annual SUPERHERO BALL at The Baltic Room on Friday from 9:30 pm to close…it’s a favorite event of his he puts together through his Seattle Geeks social group. It’s definitely a queerish event but all are welcome. AND, you’re strongly encouraged to come in Superhero drag…or, Super Villain drag, if you prefer….
Come kick off the Emerald City Comicon in style with the 2nd Annual Superhero Ball including a costume contest and amazing prizes and giveaways!
Celebrate Comicon and dance with us to today’s Top 40, drink specials, and absolutely no cover! Doors open at 9:30. Located at The Baltic Room three blocks away from the Convention Center.
