Snohomish County film fans get their own film festival this Sunday.

Why should Seattle get all the arty fun? LGBTQ film fans live all over the place including Snohomish County but they tend to get the fuzzy end of the lollipop when it comes to arts events specifically for the queer community. Our neighbors to the north have decided to rectify that, and have announced the 2012 Winter Film Festival which will be held Sunday, January 29, 2012 at the Everett PUD Theater, 2320 California Street in Everett, WA. Here are the details:

-2:00pm Inlaws & Outlaws “It’s marriage from the inside and out.”

We are excited to announce that Writer and Film Maker Drew Emery will be joining us with a special introduction and Q&A after viewing.

Inlaws & Outlaws cleverly weaves together the true stories of Pacific Northwest couples and singles— both gay and straight — and all into a collective narrative that is as hilarious as it is heartbreaking.

Drew Emery is also providing DVD copies with 50% of sales being donated to SnoGLOBE Equality Alliance.

-2011 Web Cam Confessions, a film short highlighting the voices of Snohomish County LGBTQ Youth.

First debuted at the third annual Voices of Youth teen film festival.

This 8 minute short highlights the voices of our Snohomish County’s GLOBE (GLBT Loving Ourselves Becoming Empowered) youth on topics of identity, coming out, bullying, religion and what most important to them.

-4:45pm Out in America, A moving, diverse portrait of LGBT Americans.

We are also excited to announce Out in Americas first film festival screening in Washington State.

Premiered on PBS stations June, 2011 OUT in America is an uplifting collection of unique, trans-formative stories and inspiring personal narratives told through the lens of the country’s most prominent LGBT figures and pioneers, as well as many average, yet extraordinary, citizens from Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender communities.
