J’adore performance artist/dancer Waxie Moon and her creator, the wonderful Marc Kenison and we always want to support every single project they are involved with but we’re particularly interested in Waxie’s film career. In case you weren’t aware, there’s already a terrific, award winning documentary about Mx Moon directed by SGS contributor/eye candy Wes Hurley that’s been around since 2009. In case you HAVE missed it, you can check out a screening of the film (which is not surprisingly titled, “Waxie Moon”) tonight, Thursday, July 19th at 7pm at the Jewelbox Theater at Rendezvous, (2322 2nd Ave in Belltown). Tickets are available HERE and it’s a benefit to raise money for Wes and Waxie’s newest film, “Waxie Moon in Fallen Jewel”.
The new film is a narrative feature starring Waxie and about half of Seattle including Sarah Rudinoff, Marya Sea Kaminski, Polly Wood, John Osebold, Nick Garrison, Lou Henry Hoover, Inga Ingenue, Keira McDonald, Sage Price, Stephen Hando, Jackie Hell, Ernie Von Schmaltz, Brandon O’Neill and the list goes on and on and on…We don’t know much about it, but judging by the trailer, it looks like it’s a HOOT!
It also has the great tag line: “She was in love with life…. but the feeling wasn’t mutual.”
The special screening of the documentary is not only a fundraiser, but it’s also a never before seen cut of the film with ADDED footage…all the more reason to check it out and help Wes & Waxie complete work on the new film which is rumored to be playing this fall’s Seattle Lesbian & Gay Film Festival.
Well worth checking out and HIGHLY recommended!!!
