Let The Madness Begin…Drag Race Season 5 Cast Announcements Begin Teasing

We’ve been on pins and needles for WEEKS about this and it’s finally starting to happen. The cast announcement for Season Five of RuPaul’s Drag Race has started over at their Facebook page and just like last year, Logo/World of Wonder are being coy and just releasing teaser images but no names. We already know ONE name for Season 5; a contest was held earlier this year on their Facebook page and Cincinnati’s big gal superstar Penny Tration won that round. Today’s hints don’t have names, but fans are quickly identifying the mugs with their shots.

First up, this handsome lad:

This handsome lad from Puerto Rico is the first released “hint” photo for RuPaul’s Drag Race Season Five.

And, now in drag:

And, that lad has been fan identified as “Lineysha Sparx”.

And, she’s been fan id’ed as Puerto Rico’s Lineysha Sparx, which frankly is a horrible and generic drag name. Hopefully, her performance skills are better than her name choosing skills…and, her modeling skills, because that pose is AWKWARD!!

We’re also a wee bit surprised about her presence because we heard through the queen vine that this upcoming season did NOT have a Puerto Rican queen but it just proves you can’t trust gossip. When we heard there was allegedly, and incorrectly, not a PR diva on hand, we did think it a bit strange…after all, EVERY season of Drag Race has featured one, if not two lovelies from that commonwealth, which from a marketing stand point, makes a lot of sense. Latin queens help bring in Latin viewers. But, after the rather bland and luckluster performance from last season’s boring divas (Madame LaQueer and the tiny, fishy but creepy Kenya Michaels) we figured they’d exhausted Puerto Ricans supply of performers.

Immediately after the reveal of Ms Sparx, Drag Race posted THIS photo on its Instagram page promising to reveal the drag photo after 2000 likes for the boy photo:

Myron and drag creation Serena ChaCha?

Fans have quickly surmised that the boy name is Myron Morgan and the drag o’ licious name is Serena ChaCha from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida…and, again, this is NOT confirmed yet! If it is true, it also follows true to form as Drag Race usually has a Florida queen somewhere in the mix. And, the official Drag Race drag photo will not be released until the Instagram boy photo reaches 2000 likes, so go over here to like it if you want to move this circus along for more reveals…there are allegedly 12 contestants and we have now seen 3, so who are the other NINE queens? (And, we’ll be really shocked if we don’t see photos for Alaska Thunderfuck and Detox Icunt popping up soon…the rumors about their participation in RPDR 5 have been around since June…)

Also…HOW long are they going to stretch this shit out?!?!?!? I can’t be tied to their damn social marketing pages for the entire weekend! BO-RING!

Update/Friday @ 11:45am PST: They just released a new boy photo on the Twitters and fans quickly recognized the fierce LA based diva, Detox Icunt. So far, they’ve used Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to tease Season Five contestants. They’re gonna run out of Social Media outlets before they get to 12. When will they resort to telegraph?
