Untucked with Brian: The Snatch Game

February 22, 2011• bySeattle Gay Scene

Guest judges Aisha Tyler and Amber Rose

This week the girls transformed themselves into Hollywood celebrities. We got the basics down: Cher, Tina and JLO but why didn’t the queens do Lady Gaga, Britney, or Beyonce? Oh well, not everyone is a winner!

First let’s get through the mini challenge with ‘sh#$ RuPaul’s Says’. The three finalists are Shangela, Monique and Raja and winning the whole game was Delta Work. But wait, there’s more: Delta receives a chance to call home for 15 minutes and who does she give this call to? Shangela.

Meanwhile, tension continues to build up between Shangela and Raja: fresh meat versus seasoned beef. Who is telling the truth about who made the corn-rose that Shangela wore to last season’s reunion show? I’m sure over-reacting and over-dramatizing the situation is what is really going on here. But alas, Shangela needs to watch what she says because I got a good inclination that Raja has what it takes to cut her up!

“I have my masters and it’s like talking to an elementary school kid” –Raja

Raja dishes the dirt and speaks her mind, good for you Raja!

During the snatch game, my favorite queens who brought their junk to the tables were Raja as Tyra Banks, Alexis Mateo as Alicia Keys, and Stacy Layne Matthews as Monique. Stacy nailed her Monique impersonation and Alexis was dead on with bringing Alicia Keys to life with a pregnant lesbian twist. Classic! Who didn’t win my approval was Shangela with her fake façade as Tina Turner and Carmen Carrera was indeed Carmen dressed as JLO. Let’s face it, these queens had big shoes to fill compared to the top notch performance from last season’s snatch game’s highlight queen Pandora Boxx.

On the runway the queens were asked to showcase their favorite drag look and there were some tasty outfits and not so tasty ones. Alexis was stunning with a flowing pink gown and Raja won the heart of judge Santino Rice, which is quite hard to do. Remember his dislike of the aesthetics of Season One’s Shannel? In the bottom two this week was Delta Work and Mariah. During their performance Delta worked those lyrics and fronted an eleganza performance to the judges, while Mariah didn’t know all the words in the song. Mariah sashayed away and Delta stays in the competition for one more week. From here on out there is no more immunity for the queens.

What will happen next week? Who will go home? Whose eyes will be prodded out from their sockets? Stay tuned and don’t frock it up!
