Gadzooks! Lots o’options for this Saturday!
For you circuit party queens, there’s a big kick-off for the Palm Springs White Party, (April 7-11) happening at R Place tonight from 11pm to 2am. Come dressed in white and take a chance on winning tickets to see ROBYN and Cirque du Soleil Zumanity perform at The White Party on April 9th, (I don’t think transportation to Palm Springs is included though….)
There is a big, worthwhile event at Neighbours tonight. We’ve already yakked about the big “Japan Rising” benefit for the Japanese earthquake/tsunami victims hosted by the lovely Gaysha Starr and Aleksa Manila and sponsored by the Asian/Pacific Islander Council of Seattle. Support our Japanese friends and bring your checkbook! Doors open at 6:30pm and show starts at 8pm. To quote Martha Stewart, “It’s a GOOD thing!”
Another worth while cause is “40 is a Drag!” which is part birthday party for Sister Glo of The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Abbey of St. Joan, AND a benefit/event for Camp Ten Trees that excellent organization for LGBTQ and questioning youth and the kids of LGBTQ parents. The event, sponsored by The Sisters, Camp Ten Trees, Hard Times Magazine and Nova’s Action Faction features drag workshops for the kids and the complete line-up of events includes:

While youth dance the evening away, the 21+ crowd will join Sister-lead teams, and head throughout Capitol Hill to collect donations. Don’t worry, you don’t have to actually run, but there will be a lot of walking. Drag attire strongly encouraged! If you don’t want to participate in the workshop, but still want to join the fun, meet at Stuart Hall at 8:30!21+ After Party: 11:30 – ?
Join Sister Glo at Chapel to toast a successful evening with a drink special provided by the bar!
This event sounds HELLA fun, for both kids and adults AND it’s an awesome cause. Oh, and Stuart Hall is the attached office/community space behind All Pilgrims Christian Church located at Broadway & Republican. The address for the Hall though, is 509 10th Avenue East, the corner of Republican and 10th Avenue East.
FINALLY, for you Leather Buffs, there is the BIG Event of Washington State Leather Pride Week, the Mr/Ms Leather Pageant at the Cuff Complex. The doors open at 6pm and the pageant starts at 7pm. The smells of freshly buffed leather wafting through the air begin immediately after.
