Red Dress…Or, Black Lodge? Twin Peaks Dance Party Is Saturday At Fred Wildlife

Annoying. When there are TWO different events on the SAME damn night you want/need to go to!

There’s the big 5th Annual Red Dress Party happening on Saturday, July 20 at Fremont Studios…it’s hella fun and huge fundraiser for all sorts of great non-profits who deal with AIDS/HIV causes. (Get Tickets Here!)

BUT, there’s also the awesome possibility of the TWIN PEAKS DANCE PARTY also happening on Saturday the 20th and at Fred Wildlife Refuge on Capitol Hill…

A FREAKIN’ TWIN PEAKS PARTY!!!!!!

Every arty farty/faggy waggy type in the world pretty much adores David Lynch and Mark Frost’s seminal and iconic television series about the very odd and creepy Pacific Northwest mountain town and it’s very odd, creepy but mostly endearing residents. The larger than life storytelling and characters, the bizarro take on traditional mystery and soap opera forms, and the vivid production design of the show are just a few of its attributes which has won it a legion of ardent admirers even at 20+ years since the show originally aired on ABC.

And, obviously Seattle has a very special relationship with “Twin Peaks” since the original pilot and the follow up film, “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me” were both filmed in the Seattle area and featured locations, as well as a few actors, near and dear to us. (The series itself was all filmed in Los Angeles). So, it only makes sense that local fans of the show want to honor it…with a big dance party at Fred Wildlife Refuge, hosted by Adé and featuring performances from Glitterbang and Night Cruise and lots of covers of Julee Cruise songs from the show. You can also expect DJ music from Rebel Rebel; videos from Alex Berry; Twin Peaks inspired makeovers from VAIN, plus cherry pies and other appropriate refreshments, and a Twin Peaks art show and photo booth.

It sounds like hella spooky, mega fun…as long as you avoid being sucked into the Black Lodge, or getting turned into a dresser drawer pull, or end up wrapped up in plastic at the base of Snoqualamie Falls…

You can still grab tickets over HERE!

Let me know if you find out if Nadine ever found happiness or millions from her “silent drapery pull” system.
