We reported last week that the It Gets Better Project was publishing a book version of the video project to combat gay youth bullying and prevent gay youth suicides. The acclaimed project, less than a year old and started by Savage Love columnist/The Stranger editor Dan Savage and his husband Terry Miller, has become an international phenomenon and drawn much needed attention to the issue with thousands of supporters, both average citizens and celebrities, making videos to support gay youth and let them know, “It Gets Better”. The book, edited by both men with Mr Miller taking the lead, will be published by Dutton on March 22 and the Savage-Millers will be hitting the publicity trail to promote it, starting with an event in New York City on publication day on the 22nd followed by stops in Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco. The tour picks up again on Tuesday, March 29 with the pair returning to Seattle for an event at Town Hall at 7:30pm. Tickets are only $5 and for more info/to purchase, go here. This event is sure to sell out; don’t dawdle in ordering.
And, for Portland supporters of the project, the two men will appear in the Rose City on Thursday, April 21 for an event at Powell’s Books. More info, HERE.
