Untucked with Brian: DRAG QUEENS FROM OUTER SPACE

February 1, 2011• bySeattle Gay Scene

Drag Queens From Outer Space!" The trailers: parts one and two. Coming to a theater near you!

We are back for another episode re-cap with these fierce queens and who is going to go home tonight? We’ll soon find out! The queens are put to the test to deliver their ESP. The queens team up with one other queen to deliver their psychic abilities to RuPaul. The winning team ends up to be Phoenix and Mariah. (Does this mean they also have TLC to give all of us?)

Next, the queens start to prepare for their second challenge (The queens are put to the test on their acting abilities). So they are divided up into two teams: Team Mariah and Team Phoenix. Mariah gets stuck with Mimi Imfurst at the end of the selection process (This clearly upset Mimi – let’s hope she doesn’t start crying on us, again). The task at hand is to transform their drag persona’s into sci-fi characters for a new sci-fi movie, “Drag Queens from Outer Space”. (What was with the special effect for RuPaul?).

During the rehearsal for this trailer, right off the bat Mimi Imfurst is over-dramatic and Shangela is confesses to us that Mimi is already trying to hog the spotlight (does this sound familiar all my theater peeps?). While Shangela provides the levelness that the group needs since Phoenix was acting like the little shy puppy, which in turn put a sour taste in Raja’s mouth. Shangela and Alexis did a great job with the twin-bots!

On the Sci-Fi movie set, both teams struggle with getting their scene out but a few of the queens started to show some talent that I had not expected (such as Stacy Layne Matthews and Manila Luzon). Werq it up Miss Stacy Layne Matthews (keep shining new lights upon these queens and you’re golden!).

On the runway, the couture space drag queens came out to strut their goods and their space age looks. The winning is Team Mariah for the sci-fi movie challenge. I’m not too fond of Mimi’s or Phoenix’s futura look. Shangela and Alexis were announced the winners of the challenge (They won fake boobs!). Delta work and Phoenix are up for elimination and had to lip sync for thier life. (To Lady Gaga’s BAD ROMANCE).

I’m perfectly ok with EVERYTHING! I’m completely different from anyone on this season, and I actually have more than just a pretty face to offer, so I’m not worried. I LOVE MY FANS SO MUCH! Thanks again!”

In the interior lounge, some hot queen fight happened between Shangela and Mimi Imfurst. Mimi accoused Shangela with having a “Surgar Daddy” thus giving her a good amble time to throw a drink in Mimi’s face, and she returned the favor.

“And I thought there was bi#$%iness on our season of Drag Race. Good lord, ladies.”

RuPaul asked Phoenix to sashay away (where she arose from the ashes) and Delta Work was given a chance to not frock it up! Will these queens misbehave next week? One source can only tell and if you’re lucky (or if I’m lucky) I’ll be catching you live with GLAMAZONIA, Lily Armani and all the delicious bartenders and owners down at The Lobby Bar in Seattle’s Capitol Hill district. at 8pm!
