Here we are once again with the queens battling for the crown of America’s Next Drag Superstar and a cash prize of $75,000. I say this to remind you all of what is at stake for this episode and there may be a couple of duds in the competition thus far. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves over the drama between the queens (particularly between Raja and Shangela), but strip off all those layers of clothing and snap that camera!
Getting naked in front of the camera can make you vulnerable and this mini challenge was a shocker to Delta Work:
I won’t even have sex naked!

Of course the winner of this challenge was Carmen Carerra! Out of all the girls, she is the one that is most comfortable wearing the least amount of clothing, but honey that’s quite all right. Personally, my two favorite shots were with Raja and Yara, and this is probably because both dressed their bodies with either their natural tattoos or unnatural tattoos of mud (I think that was suppose to be mud on Yara). Scrumptious, darlings!
For the mainstage event, the girls had to create a cake inspired couture outfit in addition to decorating a cake to match their self image. As a dependent from an American Indian Chief of an Arizona-based tribe, I give kudos and props to Stacy Layne Matthews for incorporating her roots into this challenge. Too bad her couture outfit was a little under the weather. In preparing for the runway, as always, Shangela is getting on the nerves of EVERYONE! Why can’t she do things for herself? She was a contestant on last season and was sent home for her inability to sew and this season she’s back to get advice, help, and the work from the people around her. Why can’t she do things herself? There is beef between the ‘heathers’ and the ‘stacy’s’ and with
“What the fu#$, why do you call yourselves Heathers?”

On the runway, the girls bring the elle in eleganza with their couture costumes and runway attitude. My top three favorites this week were Raja, Yara and Delta. Raja brought her 20 years of experience with her chocolate mousse cake and she hit the runway with attitude and flair. Yara’s dress sparked my interest because it was different and unique, which is something that you really don’t see from this girls on a regular basis. And finally, Delta’s runway look really did remind me of Frenchie from Grease’s Beauty School Drop-out. Still, in the end, Alexis Mateo and Stacy Layne Matthews were in the bottom two and Alexis brought her A-game to the stage with her performance, leaving RuPaul to send Stacy Layne Matthews home. Farewell Stacy and we look forward to seeing you at the reunion show.
