Café Nordo is preparing for take off with “To Savor Tomorrow”.

Those clever folks at Café Nordo have been tantalizing us with their quirkily themed dinner/booze/theater/cabaret shows for a few years now. They’ve paid tribute to the Chicken, Seafood and Pirates, and last fall’s noirish caper involving cocktails and espionage. This year, Nordo travels to the very topical early 1960’s era for a sexy mystery show centered on the World’s Fair and air travel…yes, it’s part “Mad Men”, part “Pan Am” and part “It Happened at the World’s Fair” but featuring some delicious food and divine cocktails and they’re calling it, “To Savor Tomorrow”. Here’s their press release:

This October Café Nordo transforms Fremont’s newest performance venue, West of Lenin, into the in-flight lounge of Pan Am Flight 892 from Honolulu to Seattle.  Flight 892 touches down in Seattle on the opening day of Century 21, the World’s Fair where fantasies of the future become reality with “The Car of Tomorrow”, “The Home of Tomorrow”, and “The World of Tomorrow”.  Passengers will enjoy a flight of original cocktails perfectly paired with four small plates of modernist international cuisine inspired by the food of fifty years ago, all reimagined with the finest ingredients and the magic of molecular gastronomy by the incomparable Chef Nordo Lefeszcki.  Composer Annastasia Workman channels Henry Mancini to score the flight.  And on board, Soviet, Chinese, British, and American agents hide amongst the gorgeous Pan Am staff in a story of international espionage worthy of a Bond film.

AND, “TST” has a deliciously talented cast including Mark Siano, Ray Tagavilla, Aimée Bruneau, Opal Peachey, and Maximillian Davis…we’re fans of the entire cast. Mr. Siano is the King of the Sparkletard; Mr. Tagavilla and Ms Bruneau astounded us in “A Lie of the Mind” last month; Ms Peachey just wrapped up her run as a frustrated, closeted housewife in “The Beebo Brinker Chronicles” and Mr. Davis is currently riding on the triumph of his starring role in the locally made film, “Heart Breaks Open”. That’s a buttload of talent for one show.

We also have a little secret to share…you can get discounted “Cocktail Flight” tickets to the Friday and Saturday night shows (October 28 and 29) and save $10 by using the password: Secret Agent. Go to BrownPaper tickets to order.
