Holidays are wack…crazy amounts of entertainment…even on the Lord’s Day! There are some big ass events for Sunday, December 11 including Lobby Bar’s 2nd Anniversary Party. Come hang with Curtis, Paul and the Cutie Pie Staff at Lobby tonight and wish them a Happy Birfday. We adore Lobby and everything who works there and we’re delighted that they have apparently broken the curse at that location. We DON’T mourn the loss of “Sugar”! (Ugh)
OR, head to The Woods, above Grim, for a big holiday fundraiser for Rise n’ Shine sponsored by Absolut…it’s apparently called Absolut Alternative, (I guess) and it’s hosted by Carmen Sense and Ursula Major with appearances by Drew Paradisco, Lexi Lasso, Mark Finley, Diamond St James and Xandria Cox and it’s for a great cause. (But, I still think the poster design is dreadful…)
If you crave Drag O’Tainment of the nationally known variety, then check out Day Two of R Place’s HUGE holiday event: “RuPaul Drag Race Christmas Extravaganza” with THREE stars from Season Three including Alexis Mateo, Yara Sofia, and Mariah Balenciaga and performances from R Place’s Lashes cast. Mr. Strangeways went last night, courtesy of the lovely Floyd Lovelady, the adorable manager of R Place, and even though traditional lip sync drag isn’t really my cup of tea, these ladies put ON A SHOW! Mariah is ridiculously pretty; Yara is not unexpectedly crazy as hell with over the top costumes; and the charming Alexis Mateo is everyone’s favorite hostess, warm and charming and very sweet…in a dirty sort of way. And, the packed house was madly in love with them…I sat next to a young man who was crazy eyed with excitement, and some elf boy standing next to my chair kept rubbing his crotch on my shoulder. Fun for EVERYONE and those girls made some bank…people were handing Alexis and Yara ten and twenty dollar bills as tips!!! A few tickets still remain for tonight’s show, which is at 7pm. Check it out.
