We’re guessing it’s starting to get tough to find red dresses in larger sizes in Seattle’s many second hand clothing stores…the countdown has begun for “Seattle Red Dress Party 2012”, the huge annual ball/fundraiser for HIV/AIDS support organizations. The streets will run crimson with taffeta the night of Saturday, February 18, 2012 as hundreds of eager men, (and some women) head to Fremont Studios for the eagerly anticipated party…even manly gay men get a thrill and a giggle when they’re wearing a low cut frock in their favorite shade of red…and, no panties.
Besides the thrill of “draggin’ it up”, there’s also the promise of the announced entertainers for the event. Multi platinum recording artist/actress/entertainer Deborah Cox will make her Seattle debut as the headlining attraction, with DJ’s Brian Gorr and Almond Brown on hand providing the dance music, and beloved Seattle hostess and fundraiser Gaysha Starr in charge as the emcee for the night.
AND, it’s for a good cause, or rather, causes. The four beneficiaries for the night are: “Gay City Health Project, Lifelong AIDS Alliance, Multifaith Works, and Rise N’ Shine, represent the leading AIDS service organizations in the Pacific Northwest. Together, they provide a holistic continuum of care and prevention services to our community. They work to stop the spread of HIV and care for people living with HIV/AIDS. ”
Advance tickets for the 21+ event are still available, (though going fast) and available at $40 for General Admission and $100 for VIP, ($60/$120 at the Door if it’s not sold out). Get’em via the website.
SO, that means you’d better start lookin’ for/makin’ that little red dress. In years past, there’s been WAAAAY too many cheerleader outfits…let’s see some creativity out there, “Ladies”! At some Red Dress events around the country, they are VERY strict about what you can/cannot wear. It needs to be RED and it needs to be a DRESS! No bathrobes, or togas, or vague drapey things! And, RED! Not pink or orange!
You need to WERK!!!!!
