Clever, clever burlesque/boylesque star, EmpeROAR FabuLous has come up with a fabulous idea for a fundraiser to benefit The Burlesque Hall of Fame: A charming parody of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” with stripping replacing the lip syncing! It’s called STRIPTEASE FOR YOUR LIFE! and it’s happening this Friday, July 19, 2013 at Re-bar at 10:30 pm and features a fantastic line-up of cabaret talent including Sydni Deveraux, Mark “Mom” Finley and Tamara The Trapeze Lady among many others. Check out the Facebook invite:
This Friday, July 19th, 2013, at 10:30 pm at Rebar, EmpeROAR Fabulous!!! and Jacqueline present “Striptease For Your Life”, and fundraiser for the Burlesque Hall of Fame. Who will be crowned “Seattle’s Next Burlesque Superstar”?
The time has come for you to Striptease For Your Life!
In this showdown inspired by RuPaul’s Drag Race, 2 burlesque performers will simultaneously tease to the same song. And just like in Drag Race, a panel of judges will discuss and decide who will “Sashay away” and tell each rounds winner “Shante, you stay”. After eliminations have been made, the winners will do head-to-head in a striptease free-for-all unlike any seen on stage or screen before.
Judges Include Sydni Deveraux (Reigning Princess of Burlesque, Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend), Mark “Mom” Finley, artStar Charlatan, and Seattle Burlesque Icon, Tamara The Trapeze The Lady. The event is Emceed by Aleksa Manila.
The Burlesque Hall of Fame is the world’s premiere organization dedicated to preserving the living legacy of burlesque as an artform and cultural phenomena. With a collection of several thousand costumes, stage props, photographs, and personal effects documenting the careers and lives of burlesque dancers, comics, and producers over nearly a century, the museum is a growing testament to the power and social impact of the art of the tease.
All proceeds will be donated to The Burlesque Hall of Fame.
