The Seattle Branch Of “Out Of The Closet” To Open This Saturday, November 15

Out of the Closet Thrift Store arrives in Seattle this Saturday, November 15!

Out of the Closet Thrift Store arrives in Seattle this Saturday, November 15!

SGS readers from other major cities are probably well aware of “Out of the Closet” the combination thrift store, pharmacy and free HIV testing facility that operates in cities nationwide, including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Miami, Ft Lauderdale, Dallas and Brooklyn, NY.  Seattle residents will now have an opportunity to join the “OOTC” family when their Capital Hill location opens this Saturday, November 15 at 10am at their new home at 1016 East Pike Street. The public (YOU!!!!) is invited to stop by Saturday to check them out and welcome Out of the Closet, (a brand new SGS advertiser!) to our community!

AIDS Healthcare Foundation cordially invites you to the grand opening of its newest Out of the Closet Thrift Stores, our first location in Seattle!

Here’s your chance to meet our team and learn more about AHF’s FREE HIV testing services, provided with community partner Gay City, in your neighborhood!

Join us for live entertainment and tour our new 5,000+ sq. ft. retail space and AHF Pharmacy, located in Seattle’s renowned Capitol Hill district.

Light refreshments will be served.

Ribbon Cutting will take place at 10:00 AM.

AHF already had a presence in Seattle; the organization took over Mom’s Pharmacy two years ago and rebranded that iconic fixture of the community as “Cherry Street Pharmacy”.

The store is already excepting donations of goods; the store depends on donations for stock much like Lifelong AIDS Alliance’s Thrift Store and Goodwill. For a list of desired donations, (and items they won’t accept) check out this link. You can arrange for pick-up for larger donations as well.

To complicate and confuse matters even more, Lifelong AIDS Alliance is moving their offices to this same space on Pike Street. Meanwhile, the Lifelong AIDS Thrift Shop will remain at its long time home on Union Street next to the OLD offices for Lifelong. Chicken Soup Brigade, one of Lifelong’s most beloved programs, will move production facilities to Georgetown.

Got that?

As for the Grand Opening for Out of the Closet on Saturday, we can reveal that MAMA TITS, and her co-stars from “Mimosas with Mama”, Isabella Extynn St. James and Felix Manchild are scheduled to perform at the event!

Fun!
