In need of a night out? Want that night to get swanky for an excellent cause? Say no more! Our very own Rat City Rollergirls are hosting their very own Black-Eyed Ball!
Next Saturday the 24th at 7pm, get your ass over to the Fremont Abbey Arts Center for a black-tie masquerade. This is RCRG’s biggest event of the year, so break out your wallets to support women who kick ass! Tickets are only $26 from brownpapertickets.com.
And what’s in it for you? Create your own mask, and you could win two hours of tattoo time from local artist Jude le Tronik! Pretty sweet prize, if I do say so myself. (Masks will be provided at the door if you don’t bring one.) That’s in addition to raffles, prizes, and dancing the away the January blues. A buffet of appetizers and a cash-donation bar will be on-hand to keep your fun properly fueled.
That’s not all, folks. Some of the finest fine-ass Rollergirls themselves will be performing burlesque for your viewing pleasure! Feast your eyes on the stylings of Sun Shiner, Ponyo Knees, Patience Grasshopper, and Mad ScrapHer, to name a few. Can we say STOKED?? This is your chance to see your favorite derby girls out of costume, in the limelight, and shaking their moneymakers off the track. You can’t ask for more. If you can’t wait till the next bout to see them, then dress up all nice-like and take this opportunity!
Proceeds will go directly to the Rat City Rollergirls, to maintain the Rat’s Nest training facility, as well as their own community outreach. Performances and shenanigans are their way of saying “thank you” to their multitudes of fans for supporting their sport. So get fancy, grab a date, and show them your love!
