The Holiday Continues To Wednesday As “Gay Uncle Time” Celebrates The Divine Billie

January 4, 2016• byMichael Strangeways

DianaRossComedian/host/beloved avuncular man about town JEFFREY ROBERT kicks off the new year and his VERY popular monthly cabaret series, THE GAY UNCLE TIME with a tribute to blues legend Billie Holiday and the Diana Ross starring biopic that helped make her a legend, “Lady Sings The Blues”. It’s happening this Wednesday, January 6th, 2016 in the gorgy Jewelbox Theatre at The Rendezvous in Belltown.

The doors open at 6:30pm and the show starts at 7pm but get there on time because this show is getting very popular…they sold out last month! “Gay Uncle Time” started out over a year ago in the tiny Grotto Room downstairs at The Rendezvous and due to popularity, they moved upstairs to the larger Jewelbox…if this popularity keeps up, Uncle Jeffrey might need to go talk to The Triple Door…

As the Editorial Director/Co-Owner, Michael Strangeways writes, edits and does about a million other jobs for Seattle Gay Scene, Puget Sound's most visited LGBTQ news, arts and entertainment website now celebrating its 14th year as a media outlet. A semi-proud Midwesterner by birth, he's lived in Seattle since 2000. He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
