Support Queer Theater…Check Out Fantastic Z’s Big Gay-La

April 11, 2016• byMichael Strangeways

GayLaFantasticZ

You still have time to snag tickets to Friday evening’s big theater gala event. The adorable kids over at Fantastic.Z, one of Seattle’s few LGBTQ identified theater companies, are having their annual fundraiser/party on April 15, 2016 at Melrose Market Studios, 1532 Minor Ave (just around the corner from The Baltic Room!)

This “Gay-La” allows Fantastic Z to put on their season which includes the upcoming camp classic play, PSYCHO BEACH PARTY by Charles Busch, May 26 thru June 11, 2016 at Eclectic Theatre, 1214 10th Avenue on Capitol Hill (between Union and Madison). A playful satire of 1960s teenage beach movies, but with a “Sybil” twist, “Psycho Beach Party” is all about Chicklet, your average teenage girl wanting to be a surfer but handicapped by having split personalities. It’s a genre/gender blending/bending free for all for the whole homesexually inclined family!

But, productions like “Psycho Beach Party” can’t happen without a bit of fundraising. Check out Friday night’s Gay-La to make those dreams come alive…here’s all the poo, including info on the many delightful prized being raffled off (Get tickets HERE):

About the Author: Michael Strangeways

As the Editorial Director/Co-Owner, Michael Strangeways writes, edits and does about a million other jobs for Seattle Gay Scene, Puget Sound's most visited LGBTQ news, arts and entertainment website now celebrating its 14th year as a media outlet. A semi-proud Midwesterner by birth, he's lived in Seattle since 2000. He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
