The final four queens are getting so close to the finishing line that they can see the $75,000 and the crown dangling right in front of their eyes. This means a couple of things: the drama is getting thicker, tensions are rising higher than last week and emotions are objects of the devils’ desire. By far THIS is my favorite episode! Stress levels are getting higher and this begins with the mini challenge where the final four need to “sell” a product from their own possessions and the goal is to persuade (in a video/commercial) for “RuVC” and the winner is Yara Sofia with her hair extension extravanganza. Congrats, Yara! You win a million dollars – that’s a million Ru-dallors! These dollars will be used in the main stage challenge for the ‘Make Dat Money’ Ball. All four queens were asked to make three distinct looks for the runway: Swim-wear, After 5pm Cocktail Dress, and a Cocktail Dress made out of money. And the twist is the girls must dance to a song by Latoya Jackson, which was choreographed by Yara Sofia.
In the work room, however, Alexis Mateo quit the competition (sorta) but came back – or perhaps she just needed a breather (and a really long cigarette). Let the money making continue, betches! Everyone is feeling the pressure and all four are trying to keep their heads level. On the runway the girls deliver an exquisite number and strut the runway. During the judges critique, RuPaul asks the queens to tell the judges why they should be crowned the next Drag Superstar. Yara is broke, Alexis delivers her speech about being not perfect and an American, Manila and Raja both give heart breaking speeches about providing strength to little boys who can’t dream of a future.
In the bottom two this week is Yara Sofia and Alexis Mateo and it came to a shock not just to me but to the judges:
Yara reached a point and she collapsed! In her going away confession she says she lost her emotions because she was up against Alexis, her dear good friend!
Now it’s your turn to cast your predictions on which of the final three will be crowned the next “America Drag Superstar”?
Alexis Mateo…the goddess from Puerto Rico?
Manila Luzon…the New York queen?
Raja Gemini…Hollywood Glam Goddess of Los Angeles?
Now cast your vote! Who do you think is going to make it to the top? Let us know your thoughts and be sure to make it to the finale viewing party at Lobby Bar with co-hosts GLAMAZONIA and Lily Armani on Monday, April 25th beginning at 8pm. It’s going to be good, juicy, draggier and dramatastic! Come on down, peeps!
(Note: Next week is the annual Drag Race clip show featuring a recap of the season so far with some unseen footage.)
