Glitter Bowling League could still use a few good men…and women.

October 23, 2011• bySeattle Gay Scene

Determined to give LGBTQ Seattle (and allies) the retro fun it deserves, our very own Sylvia O’Stayformore has spearheaded a new bowling league for this fall she’s gaily named, “The Glitter Bowling League”, (we’re hoping it’s not named after the Mariah Carey film…) (Also note that we’re thinking it won’t be “Sylvia” who’s doing the bowling, but her alter ego Benjimen…) It starts TONIGHT, Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Imperial Lanes, 2101 22nd Ave South, (just off Rainier and so close to Burger King for your after league snacking…you’ll need a Whopper after burning all those calories.) AND, they could use more players…if you have a hankering to get your bowl on, stop by tonight or let Sylvia know. Here’s the info:

Hi fellow past bowling league players and new peeps! For the 2011-12 season we have created a SPANKING BRAND NEW LEAGUE: Glitter League! It’s a gay, non competitive bowling league for LGBT and friends- yes, we love some straight kids too! The alley is located just South of I-90 on Rainier Ave South.

THE SEASON STARTS THIS SUNDAY, October 23rd at 7:00pm (please try to arrive about 10 minutes early to deal with paperwork). We will bowl 2 games each week and the cost is $10 per player each week plus an additional $1 per player each week as a fund raiser. At the end of the 16 week season, we will make a donation to a local gay charity (to be decided). So it’s a win win for everyone!

Set up your teams of 4 players plus 1 substitute (we always have floaters if you can’t find a 5th for subbing) and get ready to bowl. Remember, it’s technically a a gay league but it is VERY OPEN TO EVERYONE! We bowl for fun instead of trying to take the championship- so seriously good career bowlers may not enjoy this league since we goof off an awful lot!

If you can’t form a team but want to bowl, let us know- you may be able to form a team of single players.

Also note that we FULLY support this wonderful league, but won’t ourselves be bowling…Mr. Strangeways has a bad back. (The front’s not so great either…)
